Some suburbs take only seconds to review red light camera citations, analysis shows

Special report: Caught by a red light camera? The same violation could get you a ticket in one suburb but not another.

When red light cameras were pitched to the public, officials routinely said the system would be fair because a police officer would review every video to make sure the driver actually committed a violation.

But a Tribune investigation found that the process mirrored an assembly line in some suburbs, with police officers racing through the review process and approving $100 tickets in just a few seconds.
