City officials handed down more than 40 building code violations against the owner of a Little Village building that was the scene of a fire Sunday that left 10 children dead.
There were no survivors of the fire that started in an enclosed back porch of an apartment, where the children were having a sleepover.
The violations include one for missing smoke detectors, according to city records.
