Tuesday, Feb 27 Not cool, spring training overlords. Jake Burger, the White Sox's 2017 1st-round pick, is out for the season after rupturing his left Achilles tendon in yesterday's win over the A's: "It sucks but I have to stay positive." While he wasn't expected to make the rebuilding roster now, the injury will set back his development (and our use of Burger puns). Hurry back! In other prospect news, is fast-throwing pitcher Michael Kopech the next Josh Beckett? "Kind of a similar demeanor, in terms of bulldoggish when (Kopech) gets on the mound," manager Rick Renteria surmised. Not a bad comparison. But when it comes to the "Sodfather," there's no comparison. |
