Feb 8, 2018  BREAKING NEWS  DCFS worker who was beaten when she tried to take child into protective custody has died, officials say Thursday, February 8, 2018, 3:07 PM CT An Illinois Department of Children and Family Services employee beaten last fall while she tried to take a child into protective custody has died, officials said Tuesday. Pamela Knight, 59, of Dixon, who was attacked on Sept. 29 while she tried to take a 2-year-old boy into protective custody in western Illinois, died Tuesday morning during a stay at a Chicago hospital.
