Tank game for the ages

Tuesday, Feb 6

While you were sleeping, the Bulls perfected their tanking template. It was a thing of beauty, writes Steve Rosenbloom. Lose to a bad Kings team that holds a lottery spot the Bulls want? Check. Lose by blowing a 21-point lead? Check check. Lose a veteran center looking for technical fouls? Check check check. Lose while Zach LaVine throws down a sweet dunk? Check check check check. And just when you think it can't get any better/worse, help is on the way in the form of Cameron Payne.

Let the Games begin

The Olympics are about to get swept away (get it?) by the phenomenon that is curling. A new event — mixed doubles — was even added to the Pyeongchang Games. And that's perfect timing given the extra cold forecast.

Respect me

Cubs star Anthony Rizzo, that nice young man, is vastly underpaid — but he's not complaining. "This is like home to me. I'd love to play here my whole career." Yeah, we'd be OK with that too. Scott Boras, your thoughts?

Go time

Tonight, the Hawks host the Flames (7:30 p.m., NBCSCH). It's a big to-do since Calgary is right atop the Hawks in the standings. It's also a big to-do for Brandon Saad, pictured here falling all the way down to the fourth line.

Let's review

Jordan Howard: Very good in 2017. Jordan Howard: Even better with a new playbook in 2018? The coaching changes could do wonders for Mitch Trubisky too. But hey, no pressure new offensive consultant Brad Childress.

Math!

No, the Eagles' call on fourth-and-one vs. the Patriots wasn't "gutsy" — it was just simple math. Gah, not math! This is more our speed: Searching for hidden meanings on social media. Oh, the Super shade.
