Tuesday, Apr 24 The Cubs are back in Cleveland for the first time since Game 7 of the 2016 World Series. Perhaps you remember it? If not, here are a few photos. "Another city," said party pooper/narrative crusher Jon Lester. "We won, so I don't really care. I've just got to get ready for a start against a good team." FINE. But it's true what Lester said: The Indians have a really, really good pitching staff — a WHIP of 0.977 good. To translate that in historic terms, every Indians pitcher, collectively, has pitched like Greg Maddux in 1998 (0.980). That's … good. Tonight: No Kris Bryant for the Cubs (5:10 p.m., WGN). And if the game gets rained out, listen to our Deep Dish Baseball podcast. It's like a real baseball game, but in podcast form. |
| Very important update: So many good doggos at the White Sox game last night. Also, the White Sox scored so many runs in a 10-4 win. But mostly, doggos. And now: In progress vs. the Mariners (an odd 4:10 p.m. start). |

| Danny Farquhar "is progressing well," per the White Sox, after brain surgery. The reliever faces tough odds, as only about 1 in 6 people who suffer a ruptured aneurysm make a good recovery. But early returns are positive. |

| The choice at No. 8, writes Steve Rosenbloom, is so obvious. Maybe that's why Bears GM Ryan Pace was extra bland when talking about pre-draft stuff today. It does, however, become a little less obvious on Day 2 and Day 3. |
|
| Derrick Rose's career has always been about extremes — and now, in the playoffs with the Timberwolves and Tom Thibodeau, it's back on an upward arc (nice timing, no?). Take note, future NBA draft picks. |
