Road trip

Friday, Jan 5

All aboard the Bears' coaching carousel. Next stop: New England — home of the "bomb cyclone" and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Previous stops include Minnesota — home of the Mall of America and Vikings coordinators George Edwards (defense) and Pat Shurmur (offense). If Ryan Pace hits a home run (oops, wrong sport) as opposed to missing a free throw (double oops) in selecting his new coach, it might just end the Bears' 7-year playoff drought. Anything is possible, just ask the Bills, Rams, Jaguars and Titans.

Party like it's 1985

There's a new documentary out about the 1985 Bears (they won the Super Bowl, have you heard?). Which means, there's a new batch of interviews out with the 1985 Bears. Dan Hampton and Jim McMahon, take it away!

Heatin' up

The MLB Hot Stove has been fairy dormant this offseason. Wait, is that Rick Hahn's music? The White Sox added 2 relievers in a 3-team, 5-player swap last night. Good timing too: Spring training tickets are on sale today.

G-Unit

The Bulls are in Dallas (7:30 p.m., NBCSCH+), but Cristiano Felicio is in Fort Wayne, Ind., with the Windy City Bulls. Not a good look for the $32 million center. As for rookie Lauri Markkanen, it's all good (and versatile).

Hurry back

Your non-update update on Corey Crawford: He's still out "indefinitely." Anton Forsberg, his replacement, went from backup to starter to backup. Tonight: Home vs. 1st-place Golden Knights (7:30 p.m., NBCSN).

There's a draft

Notre Dame running back Josh Adams and receiver Equanimeous St. Brown will enter the NFL draft (see ya, senior year). Also gone: Defensive coordinator Mike Elko. But coming back: "Baby Fitz" to Northwestern's staff.
