Private-sector jobs in Chicago reach 25-year high

Chicago's post-recession rebound is far exceeding that of its surrounding suburbs as private-sector jobs in the city last year reached their highest levels in at least 25 years. Chicago employers reported 1.18 million private-sector jobs for the year that ended in March 2017, a 16.6 percent jump.

President Trump responds to treason claims by ex-adviser Steve Bannon in new book: 'He lost his mind'

President Donald Trump is blasting his former chief strategist ahead of the release of a new, unflattering book.

"When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind," Trump said of Bannon in a statement the White House issued. "Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn't as easy as I make it look."

A new book by writer Michael Wolff offers a series of explosive revelations, including that Trump never expected to win the 2016 presidential race.

An excerpt published by The Guardian says Bannon described a Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a group of Russians as "treasonous" and "unpatriotic."
