Loyola advances to first NCAA tournament since 1985 with MVC championship win over Illinois State

Sunday, March 4, 2018, 3:34 PM CT

A fan at Scottrade Center held up a banner with 30 seconds left on the clock. The black letters spelled out "Party Like It's 1985."

Loyola's celebration started on Sunday.

The Ramblers' 65-49 Missouri Valley Conference championship earned them their first trip to the NCAA tournament in 33 years.
