More than 500 priests accused of sexual abuse not yet publicly identified by Catholic Church, Illinois attorney general finds

A new report by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan's office reveals allegations of sexual abuse of minors are more widespread then has been previously publicly acknowledged by Catholic officials. Previously, 18 Chicago-area Jesuit priests were named in a list alleging sexual abuse. Three men and one woman who say they were sexually abused by priests decades ago filed a lawsuit against every diocese in Illinois for an alleged ongoing scheme to cover up sexual assault by priests.

City to open part of Navy Pier Flyover, 41st Street bridge today
