'When we make plays, we want to enjoy them'

Wednesday, Dec 26

Matt Nagy might be the bouncer at Club Dub, but if you want to organize an in-game celebration, you've gotta clear it with Prince Amukamara: "I enjoy trying to go viral and my social media blowing up, so I don't mind it at all." From a bouquet toss to conducting a symphony to Motown dancing, the Bears defense has had 27 INTs, 36 takeaways and 6 TDs this season — aka, plenty of opportunities to show off their skills. And sometimes, they even let the offense get in on the fun. "The best is yet to come," Anthony Miller said. "I have plenty lined up." Hear hear, says GM Ryan Pace, whose wish list last Christmas must have been longer than a 6-year-old's. And hark, it all came true! With one last bit of Week 16 business (perhaps stop running, Mitch Trubisky?), the Bears are on to Week 17 (perhaps with Kyle Long?) and then, the playoffs (perhaps against the Saints?).

Welcome home

Derrick Rose returns to the UC tonight as a member of the Timberwolves. And maybe, as the Sixth Man of the Year? The ex-Bull is averaging 18.5 points in 29.2 minutes— he'd be the 2nd MVP to win the comeback award.

Status update

We finally have some Cubs offseason news to report: Kyle Schwarber is engaged to his high school sweetheart. Congrats! But also, that's seriously the biggest news thus far for the team. What's up with that, Theo?

B1G picks

The Big Ten bowl season officially starts today with (checks notes) Minnesota in the Quick Lane Bowl (like we had to tell you). Teddy Greenstein makes his picks for all 9 B1G matchups against the spread. Happy bowling.

Well, that's huge

Clemson might be without their top defensive guy in Saturday's Cotton Bowl vs. Notre Dame. And that's a huuuuuuuge break for the Irish because Dexter Lawrence is a beast. Not good for the Irish: Losing a QB to a transfer.

That's gonna be a no from him

If you saw a guy on the ice rink at Millennium Park this Christmas and thought it was the Blackhawks' Connor Murphy, it wasn't. Why? "There's no way I can be seen in public (in rental) skates." Fine, be like that.
