Monday, Jan 8 The Bears hired Matt Nagy as the franchise's 16th head coach on Monday. The announcement came after a week-long search process that included 6 interviews from Halas Hall to Minnesota to New England to Kansas City (think of all those airline miles!). In the end, Bears GM Ryan Pace decided not to play it safe with his selection of Nagy, a 39-year-old offensive coordinator with no head coaching experience. Steve Rosenbloom writes that Pace is betting his job on the job Nagy will do. Wow, that Andy Reid endorsement must have been something (Note to self: Put Reid as a reference on our imaginary resume). Of Nagy's playcalling, Reid said "He puts his own flair on it." The Bears could use some flair. And fun. Also, wins. |
| Theo Epstein does it. Jed Hoyer too. Why doesn't Joe Maddon stay in Chicago during the winter/offseason? The cold is so fun! Everyone will be back Friday at the Cubs Convention, including a soon-to-be-even richer Kris Bryant. |
