Friday, Feb 2 If spring training begins, but there are no baseball players present, did it really happen? That scenario isn't too far-fetched: One prominent baseball agent suggested that players boycott to send a message to owners about alleged collusion. "There is a rising tide among players for radical change," Brodie Van Wagenen tweeted today. "A fight is brewing." You see, it's been a slow offseason. Big names like Jake Arrieta, Yu Darvish and Van Wagenen's client Todd Frazier are still free agents. So collusion? Or just teams saving for 2019 (hello Bryce Harper!). Paul Sullivan writes that it's debatable that player outrage is that high. Either way, the Cubs and White Sox both packed up their trucks for Arizona. Stay tuned. |
Super Bowl Super Picks. If the Patriots win, it's a ring for ex-Bear Brian Hoyer. If the Eagles win, it's a ring for ex-Bear Corey Graham. Alls we know is NBC will have roughly 2,304,667 cameras covering it.

Jordan Howard went on TV and called the Bears' offense "basic." But that doesn't tell the whole story, says Rich Campbell. In other news: Mitch Trubisky has a new California roomie and the Bears have a new staffer.

The tanking, that is. John Paxson: "I think you'll see Paul Zipser will get an opportunity to play more. Cris Felicio will play more." This, after the Bulls traded Nikola Mirotic for 3 players and a 1st-round pick (well done!).

The Hawks lost a bunch of things last night: Their oddly good (recent) road record, ground in the standings and a game. We lost sleep staying up for a 9 p.m. puck drop. As for Patrick Kane — he's still mad, re: Olympics.
