Monday, Apr 30 The last 4 months have been a blur for Bears GM Ryan Pace. Firing John Fox. Hiring Matt Nagy. Keeping Vic Fangio. Investing in free agency. Studying for the draft. But now, the prep is over and Pace is "fired up" about his 7-player draft class: "The whole building is energized. There's just such a positive vibe around here." A lot of those vibes are centered around Roquan Smith, the natural leader from a tiny town in Georgia who will be the defense's heartbeat, writes Rich Campbell and Dan Wiederer. Our Bears duo discussed Smith's arrival as well as the silliest draft questions on a new episode of the podcast (subscribe now!). Also in the fold: Center James Daniels, receiver Anthony Miller, linebacker Joel Iyiegbuniwe (we spellchecked his name 5 times), defensive lineman Bilal Nichols, linebacker Kylie Fitts and receiver Javon Wims — and a lengthy list of undrafted free agents. And yet, Steve Rosenbloom still points out one glaring hole. Alas. |
