Since 2004, Ald. Daniel Solis paid himself more than $330,000 from a 25th Ward campaign fund that he chairs, receiving regular checks for what was labeled simply "services rendered" or "contractual" work, according to Illinois State Board of Elections records.
Solis' finances have come under scrutiny after the bombshell revelation that he's been cooperating with an FBI investigation into City Hall corruption for at least two years.
As part of his cooperation, Solis wore an undercover wire and captured multiple conversations with his colleague Ald. Edward Burke, sources told the Tribune.
